New 2018 cohort joins MPhil programme
In the last week of February, SpaceLab welcomed a new cohort of students from Pakistan, South Africa, the United States and Zimbabwe to begin their two-year journey towards the completion of an MPhil in Space Studies. The students came from a variety of backgrounds in science, engineering, agriculture and journalism. Following a brief orientation programme, the dived into the deep end with a week-long intensive course on Space and Society in which they received presentations from leading space experts on the governance, policy, regulatory, commercial and other aspects of space activities. The class is pictured above with Dr Greg Olsen, who flew to the International Space Station in 2005, and Dr Annette Froehlich, Research Fellow at the European Space Policy Institute and an honorary member of the SpaceLab faculty. We welcome the MPhil '16 class to the SpaceLab family.
